The first circle I ever attended was as a guest. My friend was a member of the circle and I asked if I could go along one night.
The circle was held in a private house and as I entered people were sitting around the edges of the room and candles were burning.
I suddenly felt very daunted and my face but have conveyed the message as a gentleman sitting on the far side said "it's ok, we sacrifice the sheep at the end of the night" They laughed but in a good way and immediately I felt at ease.
The leader of the circle was a lady called Joyce. She was a medium who served the spiritualist churches.
She asked that as they didnt know me, would it be ok for them to practice their mediumship on me. Of course I said yes, as I really wanted to see what it was all about.
So one by one the practising mediums gave me examples of what is referred to as "evidence". Something they receive from spirit that they could not possibly know about the sitter (me)
I can't to this day tell you about what was said by them as I can only recall Joyces evidence. She was the last to give evidence. She described my uncle, and his pipe, hat, bike etc. My nan came to her, sleeves rolled up baking, again describing her to a tee.
Then my father in law, a man giving me primroses. At that point I cried as my father in law was born on primrose day. For his wreath we had tried to have it made of primroses but the stems are too soft.
Joyce asked me if she should stop. No I said, please keep going. It was emotional but fascinating.
A family phrase "he who laughs last, laughs the longest" something my nan and dad would say.
Then to finish she gave me the song "it's a long way to Tipperary" a song my dad would sing.
We then had a cup of tea and I joined in an exercise to try to connect with spirit and we all gave feedback re this.
I recall I sensed a judge was with me. Its too long ago now to be more precise as to the rest.
If you want to develop your mediumship I would recommend you ask at your local spiritualist church as they can advise you.
You need what is known as an open circle, one where beginners can join. A closed circle is for more advanced development which you will eventually progress to God willing.
Many places offer psychic development but do ask around for recommendations. I was fortunate enough to later join a circle at a local shop and attended once a week for four years.
Spiritualist churches offer a formal training as many who attend those circles advance to reading on "platform" at the church, a term used for the area a medium will use at the church to offer mediumship during the service. I presume the term "stage" makes it sound all to like a party trick or performance.
Having experienced good clairvoyance with many mediums over the years I can only recommend you try and make up your own mind having received your own evidence.
