These teachings came through the violinist and medium, Mrs Adila Fachiri in private séances held in London. Questions were put to the spirits by various sitters, including two past Presidents of the Society for Psychical Research and other public officials of high standing.
QUESTION: Can individuality be attributed to God who made us individuals?
ANSWER: Your question we will try to answer, but do not imagine that we know everything. We have endless studies before we can grasp God, but we can tell you what we have already learnt.
We have told you before that the Great One combines everything which is beauty, light and goodness and love. He is to our view like a Source but a source not only in one - or rather for one - attribute. He is all. Now if you receive the free will from him, which - more or less - gives you individuality and make you individual,, He must be and is the Source of individuality himself. Everything, except what is evil, comes and is continually coming out of Him. He gives unceasingly.
Individuality is in one respect the nearest image of the Great One and on earth no one possesses that attribute to the likeness of the high spirits.
You seem surprised at the idea of angels [spirits who never were on earth] being highly individual. You think that because you serve God, the Great One, you either lose individuality or never possessed it. Why do you think such a theory ? You can live and work in perfect harmony though you are individual and not equal in goodness, light, etc. As long as evil is absent, individuality can be mixed and benefit by mixing and give continual varieties. If you work for the same purpose individuality helps greatly. You on earth, who work mostly through mechanism, cannot grasp this statement. The Great One is so far beyond anything you can imagine that his light can feed for eternity the variety of individuals and individuality. It is the part of him in them that makes individuality and augments his light.
QUESTION: Has the physical universe a separate existence or is it a part of God?
ANSWER: YES, in one respect, and NO in another. The Great One is both in and outside the Universe. He is outside where evil dominates, but within where goodness dwells.
Now, in a brief résumé, you will find that we are justified in declaring that the Great One [is] both connected and disconnected from earth. We told you that only the perishable is an illusion[an appearance, or ''what seems to be'']. Everything else is emanating from the Great One, but do not forget that the Great One has innumerable Messengers working and progress is constant, though there never was a beginning.
The Great One is outside it all, [outside the universe], yet embraces the whole because he is the circle and from whatever view you try to look at things, he is always there. You know the saying, ''the eyes of God are everywhere'' - a very common remark, but true and it originates from reminiscences when you were a spirit.
QUESTION: Is the circle what the spirit world may conceive of God and everything existing inside the orbit of that circle?
ANSWER: You ask about the circle. Of course the Great One is outside it all and the drawing into his circle cannot be put into language.
Energy is the domain of God and is the divine source. Everything is drawn out of it and everything is supported by it.
Enthusiasm is coming from the divine source and if you dwell on it, you approach the circle of the Great One. Has not God created the spirits from a perpetual enthusiasm ? Were he to slacken which of course is impossible - it would not be divine.
Everything, even the Great One - is progressing, he in himself and others through events, experiences and mostly from his light. The Great One is perfecting his perfection. Now you know that God is all power and so it is but power in love, goodness, light and continual progress. The picture we have of God is: advance and progress. Love is omnipotent, because it means progress. God works unceasingly.
The Great One is alone, but all things come from him. The whole being of God is receiving as he conceives. That act is perpetual with him in the most beautiful sense of the word.
When we arrive here, what strikes us most is that the higher you are, the less you know of it, just as God is unaware of his absoluteness. It does not lessen our worship for him. There is no superiority and that One big Whole which we all feel and receive light from, is unaware of superiority. This must be clear to you.
The Great One, who is in continual motion, created and creates continually spirits to collaborate with him and from him. You say: ''Why did he wish to create spirits at all ?'' But that is a very weak and thoughtless question. Do you not - even on earth - when you are loving something in the true sense wish to keep or multiply that which you love and do you not wish to share with many that which you love? So the Great One gives birth to spirits from the love he is, and for sharing what he is.
The Great One knows that you all must follow him as you are part of him and that which lives with you on earth and becomes once more the spirit after leaving earth is just a spark of his own light but possessed with such strength that is can never be extinguished. The Great One is experimenting unceasingly and will do so for eternity, moving in a circle without a beginning and without an end, but at the same time expanding that circle. He is perfecting his own perfection and here man enters to develop that perfection into more perfection.
God created because love must create and share all good things.
Picture to yourself all this greatness of God and feel that from it there is a continual emanation of sparks, each becoming a spirit. That is why we declare that everyone has a spark of God in him. The spark becomes a spirit with the free will accompanying it and in a microscopic way you possess the qualities of the Great One with the exception that you cannot give life or light.
QUESTION: Is the quality of each spark from which a spirit develops not originally decided by God?
ANSWER: Your present question is the very one we expected you to put. Here is the moment of realising the absolute absence of anything mechanical emanating from the Great One. No two sparks of the Great One, except very rarely, are alike and therefore no two spirits resemble each other. The development of the spirit is left to the free will and if you follow his light from the start you advance rapidly and dwell high up. If you reject his light you follow evil and as a natural cause descend to earth or go elsewhere. The sparks vary in strength, in swiftness and in magnitude, so naturally does the spirit, born from the spark.
QUESTION: Is the spark and the spirit in reality the same thing?
ANSWER: 'Same thing.' Do not embrace everything so literally. No spark has anything but beauty in it. Its development has the rest of the work and the fight with evil and its temptations.
QUESTION: Are the sparks the living thoughts of the Great One?
ANSWER: No, how could they be thoughts? Thought is for earth and not celestial. We do not know exactly ourselves how and what each spark represents and learn about it as we progress, not, however, through curiosity, but because the conditions or rather the work of the spirits tends towards that illumination. What seems to us as the best explanation for man on earth is that each spark is the breath of God, yet this is but a poor comparison as breathing belongs to earth and is not needed up here. Shall we rather say that each spark is part of the Great One's never-ceasing vibrations ? But whatever we say is really not corresponding with the truth of it all, which cannot be compared.
That free will has been given to spirits to our view only strengthens the absolute good, purity selflessness and love of God, because he gives through such a gift the freedom to advance and the development of each spirit to be individual. Each of you could become little individual gods as you are part of God, just as he is part of you.
The actual creation can only be done by the Great One, because it is part of his essence, it cannot be explained or else, were it known, it would have a beginning and an end. If that were so, God would be temporary and if he is temporary, he is not God. Grasp this in the most simple manner and you will be freed from a mystery man created himself.
God creates because he always was, as we told you before. We are satisfied to believe that it never started, as eternity can only be without a start or else it is not eternity, so if one leaves flesh behind and reaches the world of spirits, one grasps this statement without an effort.
Eternity is truth, hence it cannot be discussed but must be accepted. The instant you can discuss it, it ceases to be eternal and the complete truth. Naturally for those living on earth, surrounded by perishables, prevented by opposite waves to advance, progress, etc., without discussions and controversies, it becomes practically impossible to accept a fact which is as true that it cannot be discussed. But this is the beauty we find here and which to those, who fully trust, on arrival up here opens immediately the road of eternal progress, hence following him, who always was and shall be and whose innocence is not fermented by minds of evil followers.
We told you that creation always happened and that it must be thus accepted. The second point is: has - or rather - is the Great One responsible for any of us ? First of all, you are part of God and so as God always was and always will be [he] cannot be accused of what he is, as you are part of that eternity.
